Here are my comments : 1-SHould have zoomed out more man. 2-That book is huge, so it needs space too breath and hands are important so we need to see them and not have them cut off. 3-Needs more punch man. More contrast, more saturation. You had the good intention of adding contrasting lights but both are bland and desaturated. 4-Book and face design. Those are your two main areas of interest here. They have to be amazing. In every aspect. The goggles are way too simple in design ! The books cover is as thin as the pages ! The cover is the same as the back cover.... 5-CLearly needs more refs, for the hands, a book, the face, the light etc etc 6-Background ...good intentions but painted way too simply. If you had zoomed out, you would have had more space for the BG, too make it better and lift your image. 7-Need to work on your value painting much more.
To work on for later: -Drawing, color and values (Always and forever) -Design Skills. Everything in your work has to be well designed.
