Clearly your drawing and painting skills need more work. Even when you paint in a rough and painterly manner, your drawing needs to be solid.
1-Perspective is off here on the BG and props 2-Add two more rats to create movement and action 3-The item writing on the book was a great idea, shoudl have kept it 4-Add another book in the foreground floating in front if her. Like that you add more depth, justify the presence of books and balance your image. 5-Values : Cant see the walls. The window seems to be floating. Too dark. There is black everywhere. 6Design. The FX and costume are lacking. It is not very exciting. Make sure its amazing.
To work on: -Values. Do a lot of value painting pratices. -Drawing, make sure to have everything clear before you paint. Force yourself to be cleaner with your lines, and values so you can be rough and painterly later on. -Color, do color studies. -Tons and tons of life studies
Ah ok ok. Then make sure we see the end of the foot of the table. Move the rat and take ou the sort of surface where the rat is running. Other than that i think everything is well placed. Its just a matter of increasing the level of your technical skills to be able to push the image to a portfolio level.

Thanks for the critique!
DeleteAs for perspective, the rug and table are meant to be floating, but I guess that's not very clear with how they are placed.
