1-....that BW sketch ? Nope. The better your WIP the better the final. You saved your behind here but i wonder how much better it could have been? 2-COmpo: should push the character tilt. A bit. Window placement just behind his head...not sure about that. A bit more to the right and larger window could work. Or since you have a million light sources, killing the window would be better and make a cool brackground instead. 3-Design, nope. Too simple, you can do much better than this. Better head design, better tattoo design, better costume, FX , BG etc etc 4-Anatomy ....meeeh its okkkk but again, just ok. Very bland you know. This is the entertainment industry. Entertain your viewers. 5-Light sources...i count ....4. Thats overkill and then some. You need two. For now. Later three. But thats it. So magic light source number 1. And hot fire light source, somewhere in the back or off camera. No light from book. Or you could keep the window and the magic and make them contrasting in colors. 6- Where are the props and BG?
Not bad in general, work on:
-Increasing your design skills -Foundation skills in general -FX -ENvironment -Life studies -Value and color studies
