Not much to say here. I am not a a stylised pro. I would say tone down the gritty texture. It flattens your image, because it is applied everywhere evenly in a flat picture way, without following form and depth.
If i were you and i wanted to really pursue this style, i would draw more of the detail. For example, draw the feathers on the wings etc, and paint more of ot as well, sort of like the girl. Like Sergi Brossa. His videos on gumroad are pretty simple and self explanatory, i would advise you to check them out.

haha, yeah, the textures were ok in the greyscale but when i started to color things went sideways on me
